What is multi-tone testing?
Playing two or more pure tones at once reveals beats — a pulsing wah-wah as the waves interfere — plus distortion or rattles a single tone generator tone can hide. Musicians use stacked tones to check intervals and tuning; engineers use them to stress-test speakers and hear intermodulation.
